Trencrom Hill is located a couple of miles south of St Ives and is the highest hill in West Cornwall. From here the views are great taking in Godrevy and St Agnes beyond to the east and Mount’s Bay and St Micheal’s Mount to the south. Trencrom is also of historic importance and features in many local legends
Hayle is the closest town to St Ives at just over 2 miles away. Once an important industrial town with a foundry and power station Hayle now relies largely on its wonderful beaches to attract tourists.
The village of Zennor is located about 3 miles from St Ives on the north coast road. It has some fine coastal scenery and a pretty church and pub with a very pleasant beer garden. Zennor is possibly best known though from the legend of the Mermaid of Zennor
